Posture directs overall attitude and intention. It is a kind of tool or vehicle for what we do.

There are three things to standing straight. Your stance needs to be strong and on solid ground. Your posture needs to be drawn upright and not slanted in any other direction. And finally your whole body must be pointed in the right direction for your stance to work and your posture to mean anything. Without the proper direction, you cannot aim at what you are trying to hit. And you cannot block against the attack. When you find yourself facing an opponent you will find the best targets on their centerline. Focus your attention against their attacks by pointing your lead directly at their center axis. This is the foundation for a solid defense and a great launchpad for the offense.
Remember that Scripture declares that the gates of hades will not prevail. Gates mean that the enemy will be on the defense. This implies that we must be prepared to attack the gates. Posture and position help here.
